Hey guys! I don’t think there is a thread for Colorado State yet so I wanted to start one. I submitted my application on Dec 29, but I don’t think we’ll be hearing back until at least March.

That's what it looks like from last year's thread. So nervous!

Has anyone applied for any scholarships?

I think I remember reading somewhere that the application process for scholarships isn’t until after you’re accepted. I did put them on my FAFSA, but that’s all

Okay, that is what I thought. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any opportunities.
Thanks for confirming!

Hi - Assistantships are awarded after acceptances are sent out but the scholarship application date was 3/1. If you get in, just be sure to apply between 12/1/2019 and 3/1/2020 for next year.

I'm starting to lose hope. I hope CSU takes me in. I got rejected by USC and UW, I know my chances are slim, but a girl can still hope right? :( Does anyone know when decisions will be sent out?

Also losing hope over here! Trying to stay positive but it’s tough. I thought maybe we would hear today but looks like it might be next week!

I'm sorry if I am freaking you out also. It has been a tough week receiving rejection after rejection. I know my GRE isn't exactly the best, but I really hoped this year I could make it into OT school. :(

I just got my rejection email from them about an hour ago.

Has anyone else heard anything? I haven’t gotten an email of any kind

Hi! I've been checking in on this forum for a while now, but this is my first post. I got my acceptance email this afternoon and here are my stats:
GPA: ~3.75
Prereq GPA: 3.8
GRE: 168 V, 160 Q, 5.0 AW
All prereqs completed except for intro to OT and an anatomy lab
Essay response: wrote about growing up with a brother with disabilities

CSU should also release average scores of those admitted at some point (they release an FAQ document each year with that info). I hope this helps!

Thank you I really appreciate it! I just want to know where I am standing and how I can improve. You GRE game is so strong!

I had so much trouble writing the essay with just 200 words.

I got my acceptance yesterday around 5:30. Here are some of my stats!
Undergrad: University of Pittsburgh
GPA: 3.8
Pre req GPA: 3-8-3.9 (can’t remember exactly)
Finished all pre reqs
GRE: 158V 150Q 4.5 AW
For my essay I wrote about my experience with Jumpstart which is an AmeriCorps program where we work with low income pre school children.

Hope this helps!!

I was put in the alternate pool :/
Does anyone know about how this works at CSU? Is the pool ranked/would it be improper to ask about my place in the pool? CSU is definitely my top choice and I’m wondering what the odds are of getting a spot.

Thank you guys! I think this is awesome, because I tried to look for previous year stats when I was doing my applications and I didn't find any. That was so frustrating!

You could reach out to David Green, he's on the admittance committee at CSU and will probably tell you the statistics, or Linda Stoddard. Just google the CSU directory and their email's should come up. They do have an alternate pool, and it's mostly just based off of statistics.

I got accepted yesterday afternoon around 3:30pm
Undergrad: CSU
Cumulative GPA 3.86
Pre-req GPA: 3.75-3.8ish (all prerequisites complete)
GRE: 148q, 155v and 4.0w
For my essay I wrote about an internship in Ireland working with clients with TBI

CSU Averages Accepted: 3.92 pre-req GPA. 3.82 Cumulative GPA. GRE Verbal 157. GRE Quan 153. Writing 4.5

CSU Alternate Pool Average: 3.86 pre-req GPA. Cumulative GPA 3.86. GRE Verbal 155. GRE Quan 151. Writing 4.0

And the Essay weighs the most.

Hi - David Greene is retiring as of this semester. He will not be able to tell anyone where they stand on the waitlist, nor will Linda McDowell (not Linda Stoddard) until after the deadline for those who were accepted to confirm their spots. Some people didn't hear until late May last year that they were being offered a spot in the program.

I can tell you it will be at least a couple weeks before any alternates hear, since I cannot accept or decline my position in the program until I get an email from the graduate school confirming my acceptance! They said it could take up to two weeks to receive final acceptance from them! Just so you all know!
