I am not applying this year, but I have to tell you...I don't know how many times I have spoken with Barb...she is the biggest help ever!!! Seems like she is always there when I call or she gets right back with me...

I really hope I get accepted next year...

I've got a question for WICHE people. What's the “eligibility letter” that Colorado is asking for? Is it something simple that I'm overlooking? (I haven't received anything in the mail from WICHE.) Or are am I is stupid?

some time this month wiche will mail a letter to everyone who has applied and is eligible. pretty simple. they havent mailed it out yet. pretty much if your in a wiche state and you applied before the deadline then ull get a letter. getting money is much more difficult and i think you find out in the spring who gets the money

When did you guys receive your notice to mail in your application fee and what not? All I have received has been the E-mail stating they have my application back in August.

It was actually kind of an unusual email -- the subject of the email was "Accountable Student", and at first, I thought it was just a request for money. Then, in the very last paragraph, they requested the interview.

So, apparently Colorado doesn't ask you for money until they offer you an interview -- which is really nice. I wish all schools did it this way.

I'm trying to check out the map for the Colorado SoD, but the address Colorado gives does not jive with Google or Yahoo maps (also note that Google tries to change the zip code, as well). For those who have been already, is the street actually 17th Place instead of 17th Avenue? Thanks!

Do I understand correctly that you are an AZ resident but have not gotten the WICHE letter yet?

I can't wait for my WICHE letter to get here. Do we as AZ people have to send a copy of the letter or does WICHE do that for us?

Yep, I am an AZ resident without a WICHE eligibility letter as of yet. As far as I know, WICHE only sends the letter to us and so we have to send a copy of the WICHE letter to Colorado. I could be wrong, though.

What I mean is: just because AZ is apart of WICHE that doesn't entitle AZ residents to WICHE preference. It only gives WICHE preference to students whose states don't have dental schools (Hawaii, South Dakota, North Dakota, etc.). I'm a Colorado resident, we have a dental school ... but that doesn't entitle me WICHE preference to schools like UW, UCLA, Nebraska, and ASDOH. Right? Otherwise, I'd better apply for WICHE preference ASAP!!

They want people who are around 26-28 or have some other type of life experience. If you are right out of college, then good luck b/c you are going to need it.

That's definately not true!!! My best friend (2 years ago) and three other of my undergrad friends (last year, all from the same institution) were admitted at age 22 just having received a backelor's with zero "life experience." A little shadowing, maybe research, some extra-curriculars, one lab instructor, and tutoring but no health career experience by any means.

People don't sweat bullets about Colorado! Yes, they admit some non-trad's but that doesn't mean that trad students are thrown to the way-side!! What's the point sharing all this bogus "insider info" anyway. Must be scared about your chances...
