I was also there for the exam. I thought it was very fair, obviously the topics covered on the exam shouldn't come as a surprise to us at this point in our training. The examiners were professional and polite. Inbetween the written and oral exam, I perused the new ascrs CREST project material on the website, mainly watching the video overviews of each of the core topics when I could (15-30 minutes long each), starting about a month before the exam in the evenings and weekends when I had time. Some nights, I was busy enough with my practice that I could find no time to study at all. I overall didn't glean much information that I didn't already know from the videos, but I tried to cram in some factoids that I easily forget (doses of chemo regimens) the few days before. I also had some light quizzing from my other senior colorectal partners on and off as well. I feel that CREST would have been a good study aid for the Colorectal written exam, and had I finished fellowship this year, i'd recommend using it for that. I also went through the MC quizzes on CREST, some questions were copied from CARSEP, others were not. Good explanations for the answers too.
