Has anyone had any contact with their admissions department? I've had a really difficult time reaching them, via email or phone.

I had a question about transcripts: They say on the instructions to have the transcript sent to YOU and then you send it to the school.. seems unnecessary especially if the school can send it directly to Columbia. Anyone know if it's okay for the school just to send it to Columbia?

Also, I went to a quarter system school and I need to send Columbia a letter about the credit system since its not in semesters. Has anyone done this and exactly how will you describe it? I plan on just putting the conversion units and describing that. Anyone have any thoughts?

THANK YOU!

I talked to the admissions office once this summer and once by phone a few weeks ago. I would call rather than email because I emailed them about something recently, and they didn't get back to me but when I called them I got a straight answer.

I just sent my transcripts straight to Columbia. I didn't know about those instructions...hopefully it will be fine.

One thing you need to know about Columbia is that they are very old school. So emails usually don't get answered and phone calls barely but still better than emails. My former boss works at Columbia and she has been saying that for years. Anyone working there might tell you the same.

Did anybody else get an acceptance email?? I can't believe how fast they want us to decide... Does anyone know what the class size is, and average cost of attendance (with fin aid) is?

I received an acceptance email 2 days ago. Since Columbia was my first choice, I already mailed in the deposit.

Class size is 50 and they plan on keeping that way, not even one person over, as I was told during the info sessions. Not sure about financial aid, but tuition is approx $85K for 2 years (living cost not included). I will just have to do some research on financial aid and try to pull whatever I can to make this work.

I'm just really excited that I was accepted!

Thanks for the info! I still haven't heard from two of my schools, so I'm debating if I want to wait hear back or not.

GPA: 3.85 (3.95 psych major gpa), GRE: 161 quant/verbal 5.5 writing, Hrs: lots! Some peds, some mental health, some rehab
I also have 2 years teaching experience during school

I received a prerequisite checklist a few weeks ago, detailing the items that have been completed and the items that they need to receive. However, I have not received anything else.

I haven't heard anything back yet. I will post as soon as I get a decision.

Good luck!!

So since people have already gotten accepted, does that mean those who are still waiting will probably get rejected or wait-listed? So confused!

Did you receive it via email or regular mail?

email

first today they sent me pre req checklist --

i called and just asked when we would find out acceptances.. they said soon.

few hours get out the gym and I got an acceptance email.

I've not heard back regarding a decision. I submitted my application on the due date and my last LOR was submitted at the end of January. I received a prerequisite checklist e-mail on February 5, but I haven't heard anything since then.

Nothing back yet either. I called and they said that we should hear by the end of this week at the latest.

I haven't heard about any rejections. I hope they send out decisions this week, because on the phone at the beginning of the month they told me at the latest we would find out on the 15th, then I called the following week and they told me by the 22nd. They are pushing it back so many weeks, so I don't know if they are giving us the run around or not. I would imagine by now they must have our decisions available.

So there are only 3 SDN members that have been accepted?

I e-mailed them asking when we would hear back, and she said we should be receiving our decision by the end of this or next week. I'm not sure why they keep pushing it back.

So for all of us who are waiting to hear back from Columbia, I just called because I still have not received any news from them and I'm starting to get nervous. The woman who answered the phone told me that all final decisions were sent out yesterday and I should expect to hear back by this week, next week the latest. Good luck everyone, fingers crossed!

Also, for those who previously posted that they had not heard back, are you still waiting as well?

Still waiting but considering I didn't interview I'm basically waiting for he rejection letter.

I wasn't sure if they were doing interviews because I haven't heard anything about it. I guess I'm waiting for my rejection too because I also was not asked for an interview.

They said they have interviews for some people, not all. I got my acceptance email 2 days ago, and I didn't get an interview. Hopefully that will be comforting to you 😉

I also was accepted and did not have an interview so I wouldn't think too much of it. Good luck everyone!

Thanks! I don't think I will be, but I haven't rejected it yet 😉 I really really love VCU and I have had trouble getting helpful information on Columbia's program. I am a little frustrated with the red tape.

Just got home to see a letter from Columbia saying I've been waitlisted. Does anyone know how common it is for waitlisted students to get into the program?

I received an email. I'm not sure about the deadline, but I do know that the open house is this Saturday (the 6th). They may have more open houses though. I plan on declining their offer today, so people on the waiting list, there is hope!

I was also placed on the wait-list. Columbia is my top choice so I'm hoping for the best!!

I received my letter in the mail today, but I am unsure if I will accept the offer to join the waitlist.

Hey admits, is anyone else going to the open house? If yes, have you recieved anything else from them besides the original letter? I feel like I should have recieved a confirmation or something... Good luck wait listed folks!

I haven't received anything besides the original letter either. See you there!

I got my waitlist letter today! (I'm on the west coast) I got rejected from my other programs so I'm so excited that I got waitlisted. Good luck to everyone else on the waitlist! 🙂

For anyone that submitted the waitlist form, did you receive any confirmation when you sent it? I sent mine yesterday morning via email and have not heard anything back.
