Columbia 2014

Has anyone heard back from Columbia about acceptance or interviews this year?
Yes, I got an acceptance offer the week after the interview on 1/25. Trying to decide between Columbia and Regis. Both are ranked the same according to us news, but regis doesn't have a hospital affiliation like Columbia does. It makes me wonder if the having a hospital affiliation really makes any difference .

Pro: the advanced clinicians from the Columbia hospital assist in labs, and provide some lectures. *Most* are pretty good. Some suck. If you're super motivated and somehow find the extra time, you can make an appointment and tag along with OP, IP (and whatever specialty). Scheduling a surgical observation is also an option with one of the MD lecturers. They also have a weekend clinic ran by students every month, created by the med students and now integrated with the PT students. There is also the international affiliations and Gautama service trips if you're into that stuff. If you're competitive, there are special sports, dance, etc., affiliations in the 2nd clinical years and beyond. They also have contracts with Rancho Los Amigos, Helen Hayes, Kessler, etc. All based on your interests, motivation and *academics*.

Cons: *dat* price tag. Dr. Granick is also retiring this summer :-(. CA affiliations seem to have dropped with the new DCE team and other affiliation sites have also been moving further and further away. Remember hurricane Katrina? Well, that stupid storm shut down A LOT of local affiliations as a few smaller hospitals have shut down due to the financial burden.

Also, rankings do not mean anything.
