The funny thing is that the instructions did not mention anything about picture requirement...... are they doing a "ugly sort" in SDN lingo 🙂

You do have to send them a passport sized photo...it was mentioned in the application. Along with the letters of recommendations you have to send a photo to the same address.

I knew I had to send in a photo but forgot so thanks for reminding me about this.

I emailed them about the so called "photo form" but didn't get a response. Is there a form we need to attach our photo to or is it ok to send the photo with a generic page full of info.

I forgot my photo too! Just stick it in an envelope (put your name on the back) and mail it off- worked ok for me!

man, i hope my LORs arrive before the 15th!!! its weird how some schools have received them, and others havent! and its in the same state, same city!!! i wonder if they were lost or my profs got too busy and forgot to send some..........its driving me insane!

Actually Wends, I wouldn't worry. The secondary application, including your photo, are due by Oct 15th. Your LORs don't have to be in until Dec 15th, though. This is stated on their website. Hope this helps! 🙂

Thats true...the 10/15 deadline is for secondary materials and not LORs...u still got time ....... well send out thank you letters to the profs..maybe that will remind them that a few are still missing 🙂

I got an email that was identical except that they said that they don't have my letters of rec, and I know I sent them to the right place. It's annoying enough that their secondary takes like 9 hours to do, but now I have to send my letters again cos they lost them.

All I can say for applying to Columbia is, at least its not applying to Yale. I sent them my stuff in mid June and they still dont have me marked as complete. I don't know if career services at my school sent my letters to the wrong place or if the admissions office at Yale is just unbelievably slow (I've heard that the lady who does my part of the alphabet went on vacation when stuff was coming in, but you would think they could get caught up in 4 months).

Hey Derf,

You're absolutely correct. I have to edit my message. After reading the Columbia website, the photo and LORs are both not due until December.

Here is the info:

"The deadline for submission of your secondary application is October 15th.

Once you have submitted your secondary application you must forward a photo, passport size, along with your letters of recommendation. Please be sure that your recommendations and photo reach our admissions office no later than DECEMBER 15th. Your application will not be evaluated until your photo and letters of recommendation are received."

WENDS, I hope you read this. Although, it doesn't hurt if you get in your photo by Oct 15th anyhow. I guess better sooner than later. Sorry for the mininformation, and good luck! 🙂
