Hi all,

I just had one quick question about interviewing at Columbia if anyone can share their experience. Do you interview with the faculty or do you interview with both faculty and the students? Thank you guys!

There's just 1 interview and it is with an alumni of the school. It was ~30 minutes or so.

I interviewed with a faculty member in an open room with multiple interviews taking place. The length of the interview varies. It's very relaxed and they feed you well.

your interview experience at columbia should be rather conversational. at this point, they know you have the brains, now they want to see who you are (you "non-cognitive" side). generally all of the interviewers are faculty or old alumni. real chill. so don't stress it 🙂

(btw I'm a student here at Columbia so feel free to ask me).

Yes, the food was AWESOME. The best interview food yet! Haha

As for the actual interview, I had an alumni/current faculty member and she was so nice! It was very conversational, as in we were both sharing a little about ourselves. What they really want to find out is if there is a personality that fits their school behind the statistics and if you are enthusiastic about attending.
