Has anyone else received an acceptance to Columbia? I really liked this program but another program that I also liked (Drexel University) offered me a better scholarship so I am very conflicted on which school to choose.

Columbia
Pros:
Excellent clinical opportunities
Specified how they choose students for each clinical site
Awesome electives offered for varying specialities within PT
Non-competitive, welcoming community between students and faculty (as seen from interview day)

Cons:
More expensive area
Higher tuition/less financial aid given

Drexel
Pros:
Excellent clinical opportunities
Amazing scholarship offered (about half of the original tuition)
Very cute area in Philly
Cheaper area to live in
Welcoming faculty and students

Cons:
Didn't specify how they choose students for each clinical site
Not as many electives offered to students

I will be applying to this school as well. What is the other school you are planning to go?

Congrats! 🙂 How was the interview day? I have mine next month!

The interview day was long because there was a lot of information they gave you but it was also a nice experience. You had the chance to chat with current students, ask questions about the program/clinical experiences, and then you had a tour and casual interview

Sounds great!!! Thank you so much 🙂

Congrats! Would you mind sharing your stats? I have my Columbia interview in a few weeks and am really hoping it goes well!

GO TO DREXEL, TRUST ME!

Hey! I was in a similar situation with Drexel and Columbia and after just getting accepted to Columbia, I've decided that's where I'm going. Even though Drexel gave me a much larger scholarship and I liked the program a lot, Columbia just felt like a better fit overall and i did still get a scholarship. I like the last year with the advanced track and how they choose clinical locations. The professors were so engaging, involved in the field and really seem to care about the students. I can't wait to be in NYC next fall!

Can anyone open the columbia's ptcas page now? I didnt open it

Would you recommend girls wearing a blazer to the interview?

I just wore a nice dress shirt and dress pants, no blazer and so was accepted. As long as you look professional you’ll be fine.

I know it’s soon, but has anyone that was interviewed on November 8th heard back yet? A lot of the students there said they were accepted the Monday after their interview

Don’t worry I interviewed at the last interview date and we didn’t hear back until Tuesday around 3:30pm

I interviewed Nov 8th as well and have not heard anything yet.
Can I tell from the thank you email reply that its a rejection or the final decision does not belong to your interviewer only?

What did your email say?

Has anyone looked into how to afford tuition/how long paying off loans may take? I love the program and was really excited to get in, so I'm just trying to get a more concrete plan of how to pay for it now.

Also, for people waiting for acceptance notifications I wouldn't worry too much! It seems as though the acceptance rate from the interview pool is pretty high based on the statistics given on the Columbia DPT website.

I haven't heard anything yet from 11/8 which is worrying me haha - a few people who also interviewed then haven't heard a thing yet either

When people sent in their deposits did they get a confirmation email that the school had received it?

Just got an email that I was put on the alternate list. Anyone else got this email?
