I received a second e-mail about being complete weeks after I have been complete and already received a "complete" e-mail from Columbia:

Dear Applicant,

This email is to inform you that your application for admission has been completed and will be evaluated by the Committee on Admissions.

You will be notified promptly if the Committee votes to request an interview with you.

Thank you
Admissions Office

Has anyone else received this message and if so, how "promptly" did you hear back about their decision? 😕

Thanks!

i got this one recently. crossing my fingers. i want an interview. 😳

I got one too...

I think I became complete on like Dec. 7 and then received a snail mail invite dated Dec. 11 (but I think other students get emails instead...my snail mail may have been due to the fact I'm Hispanic)

Good luck to you all! Hope you get invites soon! :luck:

I think all invites are snail mail. One exception might be if you email them to coordinate an interview date because you'll be in the area, but otherwise the invites are snail mail.

Yup. I got that e-mail too. It just means that we are in the batch of applicants that is getting sent to committee members for the initial lookover. They send all decisions by snail mail I think.

Wow that was quick. haha. Gratz. Here's hoping someone believes in me!!

Um, are you all sure about the invites-by-snail-mail thing? I received the email saying I was complete in mid-October. I was fairly sure I had been passed over until I received an email interview invite this Wednesday. I never received anything in the mail. Although it *is* possible that a letter was sent and lost in the mail. Stranger things have happened with my city's mail system.

:luck: to all of you!

I received an interview invitation four days after I got that email. And it was through snailmail. I thought it was a mistake!

oops. My bad. I mixed up my dartmouth email and my columbia email. Dartmouth sends everything by snail mail. I have no idea about Columbia, although it looks like they use both for some reason.

Did anyone get a thank you letter from Dean Franz after interviewing? I sent him an update and got a strange "we'll keep you very strongly in mind" note afterwards. I know a ton of people got this last year, but was wondering about this year...

Congrats to everyone who was invited and good luck to you all! :luck::luck::luck:

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who received this e-mail and did not receive an interview invite....just wondering if I need to keep my expectations in check. 😳

Ya, it seems like I got the same letter...did you actually interview with him? He says in my letter, "I too enjoyed our interview..."
**oh well, i figured that this was some generic message in response to those who sent in a thank you note
