To all the Columbia Dental Students out there...

Where do all the first years typically stay? My concern is that I do not want to live in the dorm style housing with community bathrooms but is that inevitable?

What do most people do?

hi, thanks for that.
what are the options like for renting a studio within walking distance of Columbia medical center? I've heard people say that it's not a good area to live & I'd be better off commuting from the upper west side, but I like the idea of being able to walk to work?
I'd really appreciate any advice, thanks 🙂

There are studios in the dormintories and contract housings. Almost all the

ppl who requested them got them especially so if they weren't from the

tristate area. The school vicinity is ghetto, its not particulary dangerous but

just dirty. The hospital itself is huge so if you get housing in the immediate

area if you prefer not to use university housing I wouldn't suspect much of a

problem, safety wise. If you plan on having a car or want to live in a place

that has trees and grass NJ is 5 minutes away across the GW bridge. Many

ppl commute from there also.
