hey guys..

i've read some post that columbia has not updated addsas, which was the case for me as well.

My last update on ADDSAS for CDM was on Aug 23 for 'application complete'. I have just received a phone call for an interview invite, which is nice as columbia is one of my top choices.

So the good news is, they haven't given up on you just b/c they didn't update addsas.

Oh and my interview date is Nov 11, so there still is time for pre-dec interview.

Did they just call you recently (within the past few hours)? And they're doing phone calls now, not emails?!!?!?

Oh and was Nov. 11th the earliest day that they could give? 👍👍👍👍👍 Well done!
 
I really hope i get something from them soon. My application complete status was on the same day as the OP and i really hope i hear something from them...columbia is like my top choice!!! I hope i get a call today. GLUCK EVERYONE

Ditto! Completed 8/23 but I didnt get a phone call/invite either 🙁. However, CONGRATS MUNCHY!!! 😀😀😀
For the rest of us...tomorrow is another day!
 
I was reading this thread, then my phone starts vibrating, i pick up, a little pause, my heart skipped a beat!

Then the voice on the other side says "This is not an informercial call.... "
DAMN CAPITAL ONE! I WILL NEVER GET A CREDIT CARD FROM YOU GUYS!!!!

But I think I received a phone call maybe b/c I am a Canadian.

I am sure you guys will get invites. I know so b/c some of your stats are far better than mine.

Thanks for the encouragement and I'd better see all of you at the interview. (or else)

Anymore updates from CU? I'm still marked at "Complete" as of 8/23/10 but no other news.

After looking at what was going on last cycle with Columbia, it looks no different. They have acted this way for a while I guess - don't pick up calls, reply to emails, etc. So far the friendliest school has been USC and UTHSCSA.
 
Don't know about the rest of you, but my AADSAS was also updated on 8/23 (Received/Application Complete). However, I recently received an email from them saying that I still needed to pay my application fee. BUT I had paid it two months ago (and they cashed it back in mid-Aug). I had to email them back to let them know they already cashed my application fee. Haven't heard back yet. Sucks that this might've delayed my application. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else...

My friend... that happened to me also...

I emailed/called them but no response yet.

I also received my interview invite from Columbia yesterday, however it was received via e-mail

8-23-10 Complete on AADSAS

Same here. I called them immediately, and luckily, someone picked up right away (which is surprising considering their past record...with me calling numerous times throughout the day/week with no one answering on the other end..).
He said that my check WAS indeed received, and that my application was under review or something along the line...I just have to trust whatever the adcoms telling me, because really, who knows in what order they go by or how they review our apps. 😳

Happened to me as well.. I was so frustrated and a bit upset that this might have delayed my application process. I emailed with proof and there was no reply until now(it's been like 4~5days). I called them 2 days ago and the lady replied that if I responded with proof that I'll get an email sometime that day, but still no emails or anything.
 
who is semi-suspecting that regardless of what the adcom said/says, that the "check not received yet" has screwed them up one way or another? maybe I'm just looking for something to blame....but really, don't get why I haven't heard anything from them (not even a rejection, eh...)

I didnt get that check not received email but i havent heard from them either.. Maybe they are on break again?
 
I have no idea what's going on with this cycle....it's most definitely a lot slower than last year

congrats on your interview 🙂 I am also applying from canada but I have not heard from any of the schools 🙁 How is your stats??
 
Yeah mine was also via email.. it was an "e-interview invite" haha

IT'S TOMORROW! I'm so nervous!
 
they also told me they have not received my check! i had to send them proof of payment! Maybe they are just trying to get more money out of us lol. but could this mean they will likely have a lot more post dec interviews?
 
Just called Columbia today and was told that there are still some spots available for pre-Dec interviews. When I asked the lady at the front desk, she mentioned my app was reviewed when I first submitted it, but was put on hold since hey did not have my DAT scores. She posted the application to be re-reviewed today, so I guess they will review it now. If anyone took the DAT after sending in their application, try calling to make sure they did not put your application on hold.

Thanks for the heads up. I called just now and they actually picked up!!! She basically just told me that my file is complete/under review and to just wait. She also commented positively on my grades and DAT scores and "does not see why I wouldn't get an interview". She suggested I email the dean a letter of interest. Should I?
 
Yeah, I would. She kinda of told me that it was good that I called to show my continued interest. Was this the same lady? If so, she seemed in a very happy mood today. She was even blasting some music in the background.

In AADSAS, does your supplementary section for Columbia still shows DAT score as not received?
 
Yup. The crazy thing is the lady on the phone told me they are interviewing people who have around a 23AA. Lol

so where our interviews at??????? lol. I think we just need to wait. ucbteni had a way earlier mailing date than any of us, way awesome stats, and he just got his invite today.
