i just called the admissions office and they said they are sending 1 round of decisions only on the 19th. wtf???? first it was the first, then the 15th, now the 19th?!?!?!?!

What the hell!? I thought someone else had called the admissions office and posted that they were sending out all decisions in one batch. How are we supposed to know which information is accurate? 😡

I called yesterday and they told me the admissions committee was meeting to finalize decisions about acceptances next week and we would be hearing mid to late february.

My guess is qualilegs was PRE-INT decision

I feel sorry for these admissions office personnel, dealing with so many calls from all over the country, asking the same questions...but I do wish that we could have a concrete answer. If I recall, NYU was the same way..."We interview through March, don't worry"..."We've stopped interviewing"..."We stop interviewing Feb. 15th"...UEY!

Bingo, Scooby Doo. Pre-int. This is NOT a surprise since Columbia was one of my first secondaries completed. It was obvious a rejection was coming my way, just like I am expecting a Yale rejection. No biggie. 3 acceptances, I'm not crying.

Yeah choker, pre-interview. But I believed 100% that since Dr. Franz interviewed me last year, he would dispense of the formality of interviewing me again, and would accept me straight off the bat. Boy was I wrong!! Anyway, back to my padded cell...

Well, I knew this was coming for some time as I had not heard from them since I applied. No biggie. I wish everyone else good luck though.

i wouldn't take the signature too seriously. i had a friend who had a work study job at the columbia university graduate school of arts and sciences admissions office and he said he spent an entire week forging the dean's signature on rejection letters. you may wish to compare signatures with the original ones on earlier correspondances with frantz. or you may wish to just do what i like to do with rejection letters: burn them.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad news everyone. I'm expecting to join the R club in a few weeks, too. 🙁

About signatures...while what choker mentioned may be the case, Dr. Frantz really does pay a lot of personal attention to his applicants, so it would not be terribly surprising if he did sign the letters himself. Who knows, though.

Morning Light...I'm with you...I interviewed with Andy Frantz himself in November and I am expecting either a rejection or waitlist.......oh well.....good luck to you...
