Hey everyone,

I have a quick question about admission to Columbia Post-Bacc program. I'm currently doing grad studies at a Canadian University in social sciences. Been thinking lately about med school via a post-bacc program. My gpa in grad school is a 4.0 but my ugpa is 2.92 and the Columbia cut off is 3.0. Does anyone know if they even look at applications slightly below gpa req or if they take into consideration graduate marks?

Thx

They might, but it is an awful program, in spite of its lingering reputation. The advising is terrible and it is expensive. It has ridden on its reputation of being the oldest program in the nation for way too long. The classes are huge so you don't get to know your professors, so you don't get good LOR's (very bad for someone with your GPA)...

PM me if you want to know more.

The committee letter I got from them probably is the reason I was rejected for 2 yrs in a row...until I applied without their committee letter (application pretty much unchanged). And this year, at every school at which I interviewed, I met a disgruntled alum of the Columbia program. Hindsight is 20/20. It was one of the most stressful, depressing experiences of my life, and I wish I could have saved myself that angst.
