Hey guys,

I am getting ready to apply for a career changer post-bacc program and was wondering if there are any people who could provide me with some guidance regarding the application process.

A few questions I’ve been thinking about:

  • For the experiences section, in the description, should I use bullet points because it asks for “key descriptions/responsibilities”, or should I write more elaborate descriptions? I don’t want it to be the same as my resume.
  • I did EMT ride-alongs on an ambulance, totaling 25 hours. I am about to start an actual EMT job but haven't yet, and will probably start after I submit the applications. I still want to list those 25 hours. Under which category do you think this experience fall?
  • Is it worth adding experiences from high school, or is it too far back? For example, being a tutor in high school? For the reference, I graduated from college in 2023.
  • For the resume/CV, should it be just a one-page resume or a longer CV?
Thank you all! I'm super excited about this journey, and both Reddit and SDN have been incredibly helpful in this process!

Also, would love to connect with those applying this cycle!

Hey, I was running into the same questions as you:
  • I did more than bullets, but less than full story-time because of the 600 character limit. I went for how the experience impacted me, and didn't go too in-depth detailing responsibilities and stuff. For the most part, I think adcoms can infer what those responsibilities were and are more interested in what you learned/how it affected you.
  • For experiences, PostbacCAS says to keep it at collegiate level or above
I'm also curious what others say to do about the resume/CV, since it looks like only some schools require it as part of their secondaries. Not sure if we should be adding anything additional there that's not already addressed in the common app.

Sounds good, thank you :)
