So Columbia is asking for a 2k non-refundable seat deposit due Dec. 31st. Any clue on why they are asking for such a big commitment so early on?

they want to make sure people who put down the deposit are the ones that will be attending the school.

Yeah, financially they need a full class so if you choose a different school in late April then their screwed. $2k is their way of locking you in.

actually no, the school doesn't get screwed at all, there is a wait list with plenty of kids dying to get in, so the only party who get's screwed is the one who puts down the deposit then goes elsewhere. :cool:
