I emailed the admissions coordinator several times, left her a message, but still no response. I sent my application fee a few weeks ago, however I haven't gotten a confirmation email saying that everything is complete and that my application is in review. They haven't even cashed the check yet. What's going on???

Maybe you did all those very recently? It took about a month for them to cash out my check, 1.5 months to get that confirmation email, and 3 months for my file to be reviewed.

Btw, Wednesday is the only day they answer questions regarding your app status.

OMG really??? I called them yesterday, but got connected to the automated system saying to email them or leave message. Columbia is my top choice school so I'm anticiapating. I got an email way back in August, that they got my application and I sent the check way before that.

I got the first confirmation email in July and recently got an interview invitation.
Call them on Wednesday and ask when your file will be transferred to the screening committee. Once it is under review, it takes less than a week for them to reach a decision.
