Just received the message as well. My check was cashed back on August 12 or 13. I have heard absolutely nothing from them except for my AADSAS showing that I am under review/application complete. In my email it says that I should pay the overdue fee in order to avoid FURTHER delays on the review of my application. It makes me wonder whether or not they have even looked at my application or if it has just been sitting in some corner because they thought I never paid. With so many student files to deal with, I wonder how many applications they, or any school for that matter, have accidently misplaced or put in the wrong pile and by the time they realize it, it is too late.
This is been a rather bad cycle for me so far. I applied to West Virginia and nothing had been and still is not showing up on my AADSAS. So I called them around Christmas break and when I talked to someone in the office I was told that I had not had my DAT scores submitted to them! I immediately looked at my receipt and it turned out that I did. I called her back about 25 minutes later and she had told me that once she got off the phone she realized that for some reason the score, which I guess automatically updates onto her computer, hadn't uploaded on her machine all of this time. So there my app sat, not even looked at for over 3 months! I was about ready to pay another 25.00 to have it delivered (which I told her I was going to do) and she did not even take the time to call me back to let me know that she had found the scores.
This is my first time applying to dental schools and I guess that I did not want to feel as though I was bugging the schools by calling. One lesson that I have learned is you cannot leave your fate rest in what can sometimes be inept office staff. To all of you that are planning on applying, be sure to stay in constant contact with the schools you are applying to so that nothing like this happens. Like I mentioned above, who knows how many of the thousands of applications that schools process get shuffled into the wrong stack, or scores that do not get uploaded, or letters/checks that do not get received. I am sure you all know this but I obviously could have used a reminder lol.
