Job market sucks. Kroger just laid off all part time pharmacists. Target went back to closing at 7 and laid off a bunch.

There are now 7 college of pharmacy in ohio, that's just plain stupid. California has 8 COP and are saturated. What do you think 7 in ohio will do? 🙄

I was just checking indeed.com there is some hospital pharmacist positions in Columbus, how many of the 7 COP are graduating students this year 2010?.

Yeah Kroger got rid of 93 pharmacists I believe. Target got rid of some (don't know the exact number), but I know a part-time Target pharmacist that is still there. He works part-time in Columbus and picks up extra shifts by going to Cincy and Toledo (he is compensated for mileage). I heard most P3's here at OSU won't be doing rotations in Columbus because of the job market. Kind of scary.

I work for a Kroger in Columbus and our part-time pharmacist who has been with Kroger for 17 years and used to be a manager before she had kids basically just got turned into a floater. So she might have to find out that she has to take a shift two hours away the day before she has to work there. It sucks. We all miss her a lot and now we have other floaters filling in her shifts...yeah it doesn't make sense. It's scary to me what's happening in Columbus and I would say that the job market for retail pharmacists is not looking so good right now.

You can always land a job in Dayton, some with signing bonus
