sorry guys, but the search function is just not working right now.......prob due to overload.

I just really need to know which schools combine your best mcat scores. I could have a 5 point increase if my bests are thrown together.

Thanks again!

UMass (only state residents can apply) and Tufts combine the best scores from each section for one composite MCAT score. Those are the two that I know about.

Do you know this for sure? I'm so disappointed because I got a 27Q on the first MCAT in (10BS, 10PS, and 7VR) and a 25Q (8BS, 9PS, 8VR) on this most recent MCAT. So, if this is true (about combining scores), this still only brings me to a 28Q. I just didn't have enough in me the second time around for the MCAT. I think I was just overtired -- had just started a new job, and had a lot going on. I can't help but think that I did a lot more harm than good in re-taking.

Any other test takers out there that went down out of curiosity?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. I'm so bummed out. :-(

Yea, I went from 26Q to 23S. I hope to God they look at my April scores as more representative.

yep..i went down from a 25P to a 23M! i dont even know what the **** happened. i was scoring 27-31 on practice tests so i dont really know. all i can say is that i was a litte thrown off by the test being postponed because of hurricanes and that nerves really got the best of me. im applying to both md and do schools but now with this new score im putting all my eggs in my do basket. i just hope i still have a chance and that theyll look at my first scores. i dont want to retake in april cause im already taking a year off right now but i guess if i dont get in this cycle i will. its really such a btch when you go down. i dont know where i stand anymore...i guess im kinda numb...

Hey, is that MCW or Wisconsin-Mad that combines scores?

I applied to MCW........otherwise I have a 3.9, 29Q (combined).......would it be worth applying out of state to Wisconsin-Mad?

MCW DOES use the best combined score, to my knowledge UW-Madison does not. Either way, don't waste your time or money applying with a 29/out of state to UW. But you should be competitive at MCW.

As long as the rest of your application is up to par, you should be competitive at MCW. My combined MCAT score was a 30 and I recieved my acceptance yesterday. If it helps, I had a 3.88 GPA, one research publication and pretty strong letters of recommendation. Good luck. 👍
