COMLEX 1 Savarese Worth It? Not Worth It?

I thought Saverese was totally over-rated. I read through it twice between the USMLE and COMLEX and honestly it wasn't good at all. I ended up memorizing a chart of viscerosomatics my school gave us and that was gold and answered 80% of the OMM questions I had. The other 20% wasn't really covered in Saverese, it was more walking around knowledge that got me the ones I didn't miss.

COMLEX: 640

It's a quick 1-2 day review that covers 90%+ of the OMM questions you will encounter. There's a reason most students use it for comlex. It's gold.

I already bought Savarese, but I haven't read it yet (was planning on reading it casually during M2). Are Qbanks simply a better overall resource for OMM board prep?

Agree with this. Just know viscerosomatic and some popular counterstrain points + chapman points and read saverese once. You should be fine. Focus on cranial and sacrum the most and be aware of other stuff.

also got a 640

Just what I wanted to hear!!! 😀

It's actually absurdly easy if you get passed the mental block of not wanting to learn it. You'll notice that you only have to memorize a few token things to get every question right on sacrum and any cranial

Care to share what those few token things are? 🙂

Related to this...what should year 1 and 2 students do during school for OMM on comlex? I heard its integrated a lot into the questions. Is it just a matter of reading Savarese closer to boards?

Saverese is very much worth it. I directed pretty much all my prep toward USMLE and then after I took the Step, took a few days after to read Savarese and do OMM practice questions for COMLEX. That's really all you need to do.
