hey guys,
first of all congrats on being done with the first big test. Can anyone list here what they used specifically for the COMLEX??

Also, are there any good books to use as a study aid for the systems as you work through the 2nd year?? any input appreciated.

COMLEX is a rough exam both academically and physically. It is very clinically oriented especially the 4th book which has all the pictures. Start approaching cases with a clinical mind. Think of the symptoms and how they will affect the clinical picture, labs, x rays , etc. cause that is how the question stems are asked on COMLEX. Overall the test is fair, some questions seem to be esoteric and irrelevant. I felt part of the test was regurgitative where as other parts were very difficult and required intense clinical reasoning to come up with the answer. My best advice is start thinking clinically. Example. Patient with multiple myeloma, think what age most commonly presents with this, what are labs going to say, x-rays, electrolytes, histopathology, etc...... hope this helps. good luck second year. Focus the most on neuro, i had tons of that on COMLEX.
