COMLEX II in Aug. or Jan.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Take it in August to have it out of the way during interview season and, if you are going for a competitive specialty and your scores are good, it is just one more thing to separate you from the pack. Also, do you want to study over the holidays?

Ask yourself, "How do I think I will do compared to step 1?" If you answer that question, "worse," then take it in Jan. If you say "better," take it in August. If you say, "Don't care," take it in Aug. It came up in my residency interviews, however it may not in others. Regardless of what you decide, Talk to a psychiatrist about the voices in your head after that little exercise.

I took it in January. Scored 93%ile on Step 1, didn't want to mess it up by scoring worse on Step 2... should have taken it in August though as I scored 99% on Step 2. Step 2 is by far easier than Step 1. If you scored average-mediocre on Step 1, take Step 2 earlier and DOMINATE!

Q, DO

so, im taking comlex 2 here in a week or so. my question (especially to quinn, since he already did this) is whether the programs I am interviewing at will see my step 2 scores before they make their ROL? If they wont, I have probably already overstudied...
