Ditto! Time to go drink.

I got the "easy" book everyone talked about yesterday during the afternoon session. I was beginning to think it didn't exist. Should make those Red Bull/Vodkas go down easier.

Congrats to all my fellow third years.

PS Somebody needs to write NBOME and tell them to put their gram stains in focus. You'd think for $350X2,000+ students they could afford a decent printer.

That was one long sucker!! I would sooner have one of those "too be determined" conditions in one of those unreadable radiographs than EVER take that exam again! You hit the nail on the head Plinko about the freaking dot-matrix printer they used to print off some of those gram stains. I swear some of those rods looked like fused cocci because the focus was so bad!!

And could the X-rays have been any darker, more off center, or could ultrasounds have actually be scanning someone's rectum for all I knew? I think COMLEX needs to retire the "cases" format because more than not you will get the second question wrong if you get the first one wrong. And that can add up to a painful score real quick!

But overall it was moderately challenging and I feel I did well. I am dreading the USMLE on Monday as everyone in my class says it was harder.

You're right PACtoDOC. I forgot to mention the films and USs. For one of the ulstrasounds of the Gallbladder (at least I think it was a Gallbladder) it looked more like my TV after my cable had gone out. And I thought the COMLEX was supposed to put us on a bell curve based on our knowledge/intellect. Shows what I know.

Time to put on my pseudomonas laden contacts (acquired from my OCD opthamologist, of course) and hit the bars.

Again, congrats to all.

I thought the point of them having a specially printed test book with all of the pictures was to get us good pics. Obviously I was wrong.

We had quite a laugh after we were done about those blurry gram stains 🙄

PACtoDOC, I totally agree on those cases. Although, I did have one today where I changed my answer on the first question of the case when it didn't fit with any of the options for the second question. Overall, though, it's wrong to have it where you have multiple questions tied together as an all or nothing situation.

meaculpa,
hey man good luck on your upcoming usmle. i know that you will do well. did you hear the cell phone go of right next to me? it just would be a test here if someone's cell phone didn't go off.
