comlex to match outside primary care

Hello,
I am learning more about DO med school. I was wondering about taking the comlex, is it necessary to take both the USMLE and comlex for residencies outside of primary care such as,emergency med,gen surg and ortho? Assuming you wouldn't need USMLE for primary care.

100% yes. Or if you are applying somewhere academic in a primary care field.

Plan on taking USMLE and prep for it and only cancel it if you’re not going to pass

If you want anything outside of FM/Peds/Community IM then you should take USMLE.
