I'm a low GPA applicant. I also dont have much community service at all. Should I focus on getting more service on my application, or will it not really make much difference since my GPA is low. This is prob a dumb question, as more community service is better, but just asking... Working on a MS right now to help with the GPA.

GPA is not the only thing, they like well-rounded applicants, so work on your MS for your GPA cause it def. helps, but spice up your app a bit...add some more stuff they want to see besides grades...

If anything, apply EARLY!!

I have decent GPA, not so bad DAT, 2 years of neuroscience research, tons of community service, and yet still no love from the dental schools.

Good luck with your MS - at least that will help balance out your low GPA.

get your GPA up first ... worry about community service second...stats get you interviews...that extra stuff basically just sets you apart from other applications, although basically everyone that gets in has at least SOME volunteer type work these days it seems...but you need that interview, and those are based on your stats,!...oh, rock the DAT and apply early too

GPA first, if you have time for the community service then do it. keep in mind that your stats are what will get you the interview. a well rounded application is important but you need to get your GPA up for the community service to matter.
