Quick question regarding the actual commissioning for both the HPSP program and for USUHS...
When do you/can you get your commission? Do you have to wait until just before you go to COT or start school or can you do it once you're unconditionally accepted?
Also, can your commissioning officer be family? If I do get in with the AF, I think it would be cool to have my mother be the commissioning officer.
Maybe this is jumping the gun but we just had a little commissioning ceremony for a friend at our church and it got me thinking...
Thanks

Is your mother an officer in the Air Force? If so then yes you can have her commission you.

Yes she is. Good to know.
Anyone know about the time line of it as asked before?

You don't get commissioned until after you've been medically cleared and have been approved by the board. I was an unconditional accept with a good recruiter and it still took a significant amount of time for the above to happen.

I started the process in the fall and didn't commission until April. I went to COT last summer.
