i clicked commit to enroll for a school earlier this morning. 2 hours later (while I did not have time to rescind my waitlist offer), I received a call from a school stating they are offering me admission from the waitlist. Can I switch my "commit to enroll" back to "plan to enroll" or is too late now?

i am able to change it. but i'm not sure how schools will perceive the change, and if it will negatively impact my acceptances.

Congrats on the last minute additional acceptance. In case this helps with just thinking through your decisions: if you were ready this morning to "commit to enroll" to your first acceptance and withdraw from the school you just got admitted to, what changed?

Um, probably an acceptance to his/her preferred school?

The general advice given here is to ride the "plan to enroll" as long as possible if you want to remain on waitlists, since "commit to enroll" means withdrawing your app from all other institutions. If the new school was truly preferred, then I'm just surprised that they didn't want to wait it out even slightly longer before clicking on that "commit to enroll". But I admit the rules are super confusing this year, so the original poster may not have known that they could wait before clicking!

Valid reasoning. Sorry for the snarky response lol
