Just wondering if anyone here got accepted WITHOUT using the committee letter. How important is this to my application, if the rest is pretty solid?

If you are applying to DO schools, you'll probably get a better response in pre-osteo, as there are others there to assist you with the application process.

BTW, I was accepted to a few DO schools this year (and waitlisted at 1 MD school), and I didn't have a committee letter.

in my opinion, the comitee is easier to do if you have one at your school. But it may be a bad option. The comitee can choose to write negatively about you. If you do letters, then you can choose people u know will write well for you

I skipped the committee and used individual letters instead.

the committee at my university is not well organized...so I went with individual letters over the committe and applied to nine D.O. schools and have been accepted. Only one school have me trouble over not having a committee letter😀
