I have a question regarding obtaining a committee letter from your premed advising office. I'll be taking classes a-la-carte at HES. I didn't apply to the formal post-bac program, because I've already taken a couple of the science classes. Will they still provide me with a committee letter when I apply to med school? I would prefer it this way because I took science classes my freshman year of college in 01-02, and after that I switched my undergrad majors, so I have no contacts with my undergrad pre-med advisor/professors.

The best people to ask, is probably through the program you asked. Alot of post-bacs do have committees to write the letter for you, especially if their missions is to get you into medical school.

No, the only way you are eligible for the committee letter is if you apply to the HCP, get accepted, and meet the criteria (credit hour, GPA, or MCAT) they set for you.

If one does not meet the requirments, say you don't get a 30 on the MCAT (one of HES's req's), will the med schools you are applying to understand that and allow you to submit the letters from profs. I ask because some schools state they will only review the committee letter if your institution has a pre med committee. Hope I was clear in my question.

Thanks
