If they won't give you the committee letter, then they won't give it to you an worrying about it won't help. You could try to convince them. Otherwise, develop some good relationships while knocking out prereqs and get some good LOR's from that. It's gonna be a bit rough, going from a 3.5 to a sub 3.0 sucks. Whatever classes you plan on taking in the next two years, rock 'em hard core to prove you've got what it takes.
