For my letter of recommendation, I used my school's pre-health committee. They give the evaluations of 1) strongest rec, 2) rec with enthusiasm, 3) recommended, and 4) not recommended. I thought all of my interviews with the committee went great, and I have volunteer, shadowing, 3 club ECs with leadership positions, and a publication. I had phlebotomy experience and am a medical lab science major. My GPA is 3.5 sci and cumulative, I had a rough patch where I earned B's ( no C's) but my science classes like bio and orgo and physics were all As.

I was given the 3rd recommendation, which I see as pretty bad... How will MD schools look at this? I am concerned that it was my GPA that held me back from the higher letter. Has anyone else had this situation with the committee letter? I really can't see what went wrong. I have contacted someone about it, but they have yet to respond.

I feel these 'committees' value undergrad gpa more than anything else. My guess is that you gpa held you back.
