*I volunteered in Africa for a month and it taught me much. It makes me want to help all the poor and sick people of the world.

*My mom was suffering from [EDIT- a less serious condition] and I took care of her. It inspired me to become a doctor.

*I was an EMT and I saw someone die. It was a life changing moment. I want to save people from dying.

*I dissected a frog in high school and my whole outlook on life has changed. I love science.

I know you probably mean this all in fun, but some us did take care of a parent. Personally, it was the hardest, most painful, and most stressful time in my life. Watching someone die painfully is not "played out." If you experienced something similar, or were compassionate, you wouldn't be so flippant about such a serious subject.

*I am just fascinated with the human body.

*The night I rushed patient 11573 along those dark and dreary streets, the screams of ambulances in the night told me I was meant to do this forever.

*Grandpa was my best friend. He died of diabetes and heart disease. My other grandpa died of lung cancer. I want to educate people about the dangers of smoking and bad eating habits so that no one will die of these horrible diseases ever again.

* When I opened that Fisher-Price doctor kit and put the stethoscope around my neck, I knew that I would someday be a doctor.

sorry, I meant writing a PS about a relative with a flu or something not serious. Someone in your situation must be really inspired by such an experience and I'm sure you had a solid and unique PS.

*I followed a doc one afternoon and I thought it was fun.

*My parents always wanted me to become a doc.

*My [some relative] has a Lexus, a huge house, vacations in Paris, and always remembers my birthday with an expensive present. I've always wanted to be a doc just like her/him.
