Hello fellow non trads,

I'm a recent penn state grad with a little more than half of my pre reqs left. I live in south central PA and it would be by far easiest and cheapest for me to finish my pre reqs at PSU harrisburg or PSU york (both commonwealth aka branch campuses of Penn State main campus). I could live at home with my parents and be done in a year, applying by this time next year.

Will taking these classes at a branch campus be detrimental to my application, or not matter?

Cheapest would be HACC but stick with the brand. Be advised though since you're now non-degree seeking your registration priority is dead last. Which prereqs are you still working on?

HACC would be cheaper but OP might b concerned about the extent to which prerequisites from CCs are accepted.

Branch campus won't matter - CC will a bit but not much, look under MSAR, most schools take CC, and if you had strong grades at Penn I don't think taking a few CC classes is going to matter a whole lot

The consensus on SDN seems to be a YMMV. However, I think it is a lot less of an issue if the statement in bold is true.

I addressed both the cost concern and the perception concern in my post. That's what 'stick with the brand' means. Is that more clear?

OP what do you have left ? The reason I was specific about mentioning your non-degree seeking status is that in the Fall and Spring Chem 111 and 113 lab seats fill up quickly.

Hey guys,

Just physics, and I would like to retake Gen Chem 2 because I got a C+ in it the first go round (Really want to go DO, FYI)

Thank you guys for your reply, I'm thinking I will take the classes a PSU Harrisburg. I did well in all the pre reqs (besides gen chem 2) at PSU University Park so hopefully this won't mark against me!

Thanks again guys,

Gen Chem 2 shredded everybody.
If you were thinking about doing chem 2 and physics at the same time during summer session, don't. Save yourself.
Best of luck!
