Some schools have a limit on how many community college credits they accept... most accept 60 some 70...I have 76 community college credits. The last 8 credits were for pre req course work. Will schools not count the pre req courses because I went over the 70 credit limit? I would really appreciate if someone can clear this up for me. thank you!

If you take additional science courses at a bonafide university and manage to do well, the number of credits obtained at a CC may not be an issue.

it depends on the school and also the school might treat each case different. in my case, I have about 40% work done in CC (65 units), and I didn't have trouble getting multiple offers (all the pre-requisite courses were done at a 4-year university though). Pitt said on its website that they don't consider highly of those who did more than 1/3 of their coursework (both general and required) at a CC, but I still got in on 12/1. I even asked them if I could take a 100 level biochemistry class at a CC this semester to fulfill the requirement and they said yes. it's highly negotiable, but make sure you talk to the schools you want to go to beforehand.

schools are likely to be more lenient after accepting you.
