It does according to AMCAS descriptions for classifying activities. Hospital volunteering is listed as part of Community Service/Volunteer - Medical/Clinical.

I see. Irvine activities section have a space for clinical activity and a space for community service. Would shadowing count as the clinical and volunteering as community?

I think in this case (given the context), community service refers to nonclinical volunteering. So both hospital volunteering and shadowing are listed under clinical activity, while nonclinical volunteering is listed under community service. I'd check the UC Irvine thread for more clarification.
