Does doing community service at random places and random times throughout the year count as community service that can be put on the application? thanks
You'd probably want to group a bunch of short-term experiences under one heading, but it's fine to list them. Regular weekly or bimonthly involvement is preferred, but if you have no choice, do what you have to do to look like you have some altruism.
Yeah group those under one heading. I dont know what sort of volunteering you do...but do soemthing you enjoy. So many premeds here do scutwork type stuff that I personally would hate doing. For my volunteering I worked with a group who repaired mountain bike trails here....and since I am a mountain biker it was a blast for me!
Something long-term would be best. As willen suggested, find something you enjoy. Volunteer in ways that will make a difference but be enjoyable to you. Consider your passions, hobbies, interests, etc. and go from there.
