Hi please tell me about the following schools: suny upstate, suny buffalo, albany medical college, nymc, mt sinai, cwru, usc. I would like to know what is PBL(problem based learning) as opposed to Lecture Based and which schools have the former and which the latter? Also want to know which schools allow electives(at other schools) during the 3rd year, and which schools allow the most electives in total? Thanks.

PBL, to my knowledge, is used as a basis for Evidence-Based-Medicine. PBL sessions are in small groups (~5 students) that are self-guided, as apposed to lecture, which is, well, lecture.

Just look at the school's websites or email/call the admissions office to answer these questions. Most schools have both lecture and PBL sessions as a part of their curriculum.

You need to do more research instead of just asking SDN. Each school's website should have a thorough description of their cirriculum. The PBL schools might even have more info for you. As for the electives stuff, I would look on AAMC's website at the cirriculum database. You can search schools that have a particular grading system, those that offer geriatric electives, etc.
