Can someone please post a detailed sample curriculum? Everything found online is very general and doesn't include the courses for each semester/block. I would like to know what is usually taught in each semester/block . For instance, if term 1/block 1 is anatomy, physiology, histology, etc. Thank you.

This will vary wildly school to school. I would email your specific school(s) in question to find out what it is, but do be mindful that (generally) every school will cover the same territory

I don't know what detail you want, but many schools have diagrams of their curriculum schedule. Some will include the specific themes for reach block, and you could find more information if you asked current students. Note: things may change when you start.

Agreeing with the others - soooooo much variation between schools in terms of names and timing and how they chop everything up. The material to be covered is pretty standardized though.

There is probably something on the lcme website that lays out expected number of hours devoted to which topics, or at least there used to be. It’s still pretty broad, but might give you some ideas how all curriculae are weighted.

There’s also something on the usmle site about topics addressed on step 1 which basically covers the usual material.

You could reach out to schools directly as well and they might be willing to share more specific breakdowns. So instead of “8-10 hours on cardiac physiology” you might see how they chose to break that into a couple days of lectures or part lecture part pbl or whatever.

For M1 so far, each of our blocks is 1.5-2.5 or so weeks in length with one longitudinal block that's a few questions per test that get pulled out into a separate block score. The first 2 blocks are a lot of random general classes like cell signaling, trafficking, biochem, etc. The rest are systems based, so right now we're doing a 2 week block about endocrine and head and neck. That covers all the basic intro content for those two subjects including anatomy, physiology, histology, and some basic pathophys along with a couple random interspersed classes. We generally have 4-6 hours of (optional) class a day with a couple longer and shorter days mixed in.
