Comparing Sat scores to Mcats?????

Ok, I was wondering if there truly is a correlation of SAT/ACT scores to future MCAT scores one will most likely achieve?

I for one only got an 1150 SAT, and I retook the ACT as a college sophomore this year and only got a 25, bc I was shooting for an early assurance route which will now not work out. Now I'm worried that I probably won't do so hot on the MCAT either.......

So, can anyone share there sat/act scores and mcat scores?

So, are you saying there is a correlation between ACT and SAT scores?

I took the SAT in '89, before they revamped the scoring. I thought I heard somewhere that if I add 100 to my score that's what I would have gotten post-change. Is that true?

I hope that the couple of schools who asked for SAT scores realize this.

I don't really think there's much of a correlation. There's a huge cognitive maturation that occurs between taking the SAT and taking the MCAT.

The schools that wanted SAT scores didn't ask me when I took them. This would create a serious flaw in the stats if that's what they're asking for.

I don't know how well MCAT and SAT scores lineup based on individuals, however, if you look at school's with the highest SAT averages, they also average the highest overall MCATs.

ie - Harvard 33-34, Princeton 32-33, MIT 32-33, Duke 32, etc

previous scores have been posted by other people in terms of MCAT ave for each school.. (please don't use the excuse that these schools discourage weaker applicants b/c they don't).

But looking at averages doesn't really fully answer whether MCATs and SATs lineup by the individual.

why is this important again?

comparing a high school level test that wasnt too intensive to the day long mcat exam?

maybe the verbal scores can tell something but still...

imho i dont think there is a significant correlation.

just understand the concepts of the subjects on the mcat and await your score. your sat score will not help you predict what you will get on the mcat. only practice mcats can help you with that.
