This question is directed towards those who are already doctors here. What is the equivalent of the competency checklists listed below for doctors in the fields I will list below? :
http://nursing.uchc.edu/Competency_Checklists/index.html
Fields:
Surgery - cardiac, cardiothoracic, general, oral & maxillofacial, trauma, thoracic, orthopedic, and pediatric
Dentistry - general dentist competency checklist
I am asking this question because I am pondering an apprenticeship type approach to learning the minimum basics of what each of the doctors in the fields listed above knows. I am not becoming a doctor just so you know. I already have the checklist that a student could use to learn the necessary skills to be a CNA if he was taught alongside an already proficient CNA. I also have the same checklists for one to become a RN in, I think, any area of RN. Now, to complete my research I require the competency checklists for the doctors in the areas above.
I've been searching Google and I can't seem to find anything so far. I found the RN competency info that I posted above but nothing for doctors yet. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this on the forums or should I request a competency/skills checklist for each specialty that I'm looking for in it's specific area here on the forum...??
*Surely the doctors who are specialists in the areas above have checklists or can direct me where to find checklists for their specific area(s). BUT if not, then, do you all feel I should just contact a hospital here that has a specialist in each of the areas above and request the specific checklist(s) from them.
Thank you!
