Hi,

I'm starting to put together a list of schools that I want to apply to and I'm looking at their sites and trying to gauge my competitiveness/where I stand based on their averages. Is this a good idea to do so?

http://dental-schools.startclass.com/ <--- Is this site also pretty accurate?

I was talking to one first year dental student who's at a school where the average GPA for a competitive candidate is 3.2 but she told me that most of her classmates had a 3.6+ GPA and didn't get into other schools so that's kind of concerning for me...

I mean considering it's not an official source and the fact that I've looked at it, it's not that accurate. You should buy the official ADEA guide to dental schools. It has so much detail on everything you need to know stats wise it's worth the purchase and it's not even pricey. That would be your best/accurate source.
