Took the DAT about two weeks ago was wondering if these scores and my background seem competitive enough?

SCORES
22 PAT
19 QR
18 RC
25 BIO
22 GC
23 OC
TS: 24
AA: 21

These scores to me seem good but comparing to everyone on here it seems about average.

oGPA: 3.378 sGPA: 3.468 -- overall GPA is kinda low or below average that is what my concern is.

Im a VA resident and I would like to attend VCU as my number one, but my GPA is below average and DAT is around what they expect. I also know that I need to apply to a lot of private schools as well.

EC: 1200 hours of Dental assisting, 50 hours shadowing, 100 hours in research lab. I believe I need to do more volunteering and also shadowing, probably up to 100 hours.

I will be applying this upcoming cycle, mainly to a lot of private schools due to my low oGPA.

I saw many people on this forum get multiple acceptances with similar scores. Just be realistic of where you apply and get some feedback from people regarding your school list. I think applying to 10 schools is a good number in your situation. Increasing your volunteering hours is also a good idea. Killer TS score btw.

Your GPA is not terrible. Those are good DAT scores, if you apply broadly you’ll probably get a few interviews. Keep in mind when you look at other people’s DAT scores on SDN, the majority of people on here are in the top percent, but if you’re comparing your scores across the board they’re actually pretty good.

Yeah. Don't compare yourselves to the profiles in SDN, most applicants have stats much lower than the avg individual profile on SDN. Although I don't want to quantify an avg. applicant, I do believe that the avg applicant have DAT~18 and G.P.A ~3.45.

If you compare yourself to people on this website you'll think you'll need a 25 to be competitive. Dude you did great. Your science GPA isn't even that bad. I think you'll be fine. I had a friend with almost identical stats get into two excellent schools last cycle.

Thanks guys! meant to reply awhile ago, but lost track of it. Good luck to all who already got accepted!!!
