I am an undergrad psychology major in my senior year with an overall GPA of 3.68 and a psych GPA of 3.71.

I have one year of clinical experience (in a locked, high-risk facility for geriatric patients, as a group leader) and 6 months of non-profit experience working with children.

I have yet to take the GREs, but my SAT scores were 670 V and 700 M.

I would love to apply to a clinical PhD program, but I have yet to focus on research experience as I want to work in a clinical setting.

I am looking for a semi-competitive terminal MS program in Clinical/Counseling psychology. What do you have to recommend?

Thanks for your help!

As far as I'm aware, there are no terminal MS programs in clinical... they're intended to be stepping stones to PhDs. With your stats, you'll get an interview anywhere you apply because counseling psych masters programs are not difficult to get into. I attend UC Denver's counseling psych program and like it quite a bit. PM me if you have questions about it.

One master's program in clinical psychology that I would recommend is Minnesota State University-Mankato if your ultimate goal is a PhD in clinical psychology. It's focused on research and placing you in a doctoral program. You won't make any progress towards licensure as a mental health counselor or psychological associate, but that's not the program's goal.
