I would like to go into neurology but got a CP (conditional pass) on my internal medicine clerkship and didn't honor any of my others. My Step 1 score was 221. Does anyone think that the CP and lack of honors will hurt my chances much for getting in where I want to go.

In other words, how competitive is neurology exactly? Does someone like myself coast right in or is there a good chance I don't match?

US grad, or other? How good will your LORs be?

US grad at average school. LORs shouldn't be bad.

If you interview well, you have no worries. If you don't, you ought to match somewhere anyway.

Well on ther hand if u were an IMG with the same medschool performance (my situation) ... they probably kick u out ! 😀 Well i hope not ...

I don't think the question is how competitive is neurology, it should be how competitive is your application. How do you expect people to tell you how good is your chance to get into a residency program if all you stated was could I get in where I want to go......what program do you want to go?

Is neurology generally difficult to obtain for FMGs?
