..🙂 Ok all quick summary of MY resume...
You forgot to include how many threads you've started on SDN.

That shows interest.

I'd start 10 more threads, then make sure to include your overall count on YOUR resume.

...in all seriousness, you are coming off kinda like a primadonna by starting a new thread for every little question. It's great that you're interested, but your situation is far from unique, so try to use the search function a bit. Pod school scholarship offers get discussed every year, and not much changes. In a nutshell: have good stats and apply early, but some schools just have bigger scholarship endowments than others.

Haw haw! Feli...

Maybe eBay power-seller status helps too?

You (Fraternity Guy) are just enthused; nothing wrong with that. That's better than being constantly negative like that one guy (where's he gone anyway?).

Edit: OP, since you're going to school at NAU, you might be interested in taking in a few lectures if possible from Drs. Cornwall and McPoil in the Physical Therapy Dept. They have done a massive amount of work in gait analysis and you're likely to run across their names when researching biomechanics topics.

My Stats:
-GPA: 4.8 Overall, 4.9 Science
-MCAT 46M (yup there was an extra credit question at the end!)
-Published 3 text books for anatomy, biochem, and physiology used in every pod school curriculum currently
-28,600+ hours of volunteering at Children's Hospitals throughout the world
-Won 3 Olympic Gold medals
-Killed 20,000 Vietcong in '69

Ozzy Osbourne bites off heads of bats, I bite off heads of Siberian Tigers!
(I thought about sending in a pic of Chuck Norris with my application, but I thought it would be cheating---ya know, they would have given me a full ride plus the keys to city!😀)

This is the "nth" thread where people are either giddy and wondering what santa clause will give them to pay for pod school, or they are wondering if "scoring 38s and 39s on the MCAT" will land them a spot in any of the schools (yes Vincezzo33 started a post awhile back wondering about something to this effect).... Bottom line is your stats are amazing and you will have offers of scholarship and admission...congrats!😉

I don't think any of the schools have full rides, usually only half of one year's tuition that you need to renew (keep your grades up to do so, etc.). Or they may give like $5K per year renewable..... anyway, we all don't want or need to see each others stellar GPA's or "icing on the cake" achievements.... It is simply faux pas to do so and doesn't exactly 'bolster' morale of other applicants on the website....(PS- no I'm not bitter. I actually have some interviews beginning in October. Just wanted to make a point).

Lol, love your CV! 😀

To the first poster....Since "CoolVKB" is MIA, did you take over? Just interview first and see what offers you get! It is simple as that man. Just don't be a tool about your EC's during the interview.

To pay for pod school, most peeps take out loans and use scholarship money. All the schools will give out money except for AZPOD...and I'm not sure about Western. The highest amount straight up is half tuition (like $13,000) but is only renewable if you are the top of the class (like top 5 or 10 maybe, and some deals require an essay, etc). Most others are $3,000-$4,000 renewable each year with a 3.0-3.25 GPA. The lower amount ones can be a better deal because it's mad hard to be in top 5 or 10 (students, not percent) in ANY of the pod schools.

Since you are looking at Samuel Merritt, I was told they upped scholarship money this year. I think they are doing half tuition deals now too.

lol great ppl im just excited no need for the attacks haha-whatever im just wondering if anyone had similar stats and what type/amount of scholarships they got. some of you guys are making this into a big deal cause im listing what ive done..is there something wrong with being involved and having done a lot of things which im proud of? i dont think so-for gods sake people chill😍

You even use the smiley's like Coolvkb!

lol... play nice, kids.

Hopefully you will both get into Samuel Merritt with a full scholarship, date the hottest Abercrombie models in Oakland, tie for valedictorian... and then you can interview against one another for Kaiser-Walnut Creek someday 😀

Good call Feli....

Some good sarcastic jokes can be occasionally funny, but we don't need to full-on ream each other back and forth... By the way, what is the deal with Samuel Merritt for you (poster of the thread) anyway? You lived in CA till you were like 11 and badly want to go back to incur debt for the rest of your career? Doesn't Scholl's have a better rep overall anyway? Welp, I'm outta this post. Peace! And don't forget....
"be excellent, to each other" -Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure....

OH and FELI.. hurry up and post something somewhere!! Your'e at 999!!! Congrats on the big 1,000! (may I never reach it myself... lo jk.... but seriously, you really do have very helpful posts for prepods.)

In your interview invite to CSPM it should say that they have "$5,000-$12,500 scholarships available" for candidates like yourself. That would mean if you are top of the class, you get $12,500 for the year which would save you $50,000 of the likely $190,000+ you'd spend on school/living over 4 years.($140,000+ debt for 4 years isn't THAT bad, right? 😉)... If you got $5,000, you'd save $20,000 and so forth. I think most schools have the same amount of scholarship to offer (capping out at like $15,000). So anyway, you could be getting through pod school in DMU or something like that for less than $90,000 total debt if you got the top scholarship.... anywhoo, good luck with your decision. CA is a nice state to be in, just not to pay rent/gas/taxes/utilities/etc. in...

GO FELI GO FELI GO!!! (1000 and still counting!!!)

Yeah you are....

Actually, the only thing I posted by itself that didn't have anything to do with this thread, was what you quoted me on ("yeah you are"...).... so it would seem that we are tied so to say in the erroneous race(i.e. me commenting about Maserati, and you commenting about me?) 😀..but I digress....

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that I was told during my AzPod interview that they weren't allowed to offer scholarships until they were fully accredited. They have that accredidation now, but it will take time to build up scholarship money for merit. If that is true, then Western won't have merit scholarship monies to offer in the beginning either.

Just FYI, there are two main types of scholarship monies. Merit-based are for the grades you get in undergrad & your score on the MCAT. Need-based are for those with greatest financial need based on certain guidelines.

Western does NOT have merit based scholarship money. I confirmed it last week with them. Bummer!!!

You will find that the DO-affiliated pod programs don't have much in the way of entrance scholarship money. I could be wrong, but I think that is due to a few reasons:
1) They offer high quality education and can attracts good applicants even without offering $
2) They are relatively small graduating classes and relatively young programs with limited alumni contributions
3) DO programs generally don't have a ton of scholarships, and you don't want pod students (who already pay less in tuition) sitting side by side talking about their half tuition scholarship while the osteopath student has nothing

If you go to a DO-integrated program, there will still be a fair amount of scholarship offerings for the later clinical years, but you have to seek them out through FinAid office, APMA, internet, etc. You will also have some stiff cometition for those monies, though... the integrated pod programs have pretty strong students from everything I've seen.

It's a tradeoff you have to decide on. Scholarships can save you a ton of $, and I'm very happy with my choice (esp when you factor in interest over the next 10-30yrs). On the other side of the coin, getting a knowledge base is what your top priority, and you need to decide whether or not you think it will be significantly better at an integrated program.

Scholl is a super-fabulous MD-integrated program, and it offers half tuition scholarships based on merit for first year entrants. There is also an opportunity for that scholarship the 2nd year as well.

Keep in mind that the Scholl 2nd year half-tuition scholarships are not solely based on GPA. They have a point system that also includes involvement with student organizations, officer positions held, community service, etc.

Feli - new to this forum stuff. Where can I find this "search function" so I dont have to ask every little question. Is it the "google" bar at the top of the page? Thanks..

you go to the search tab....

wait wait wait----you use the "search tab" for the "search function"? DUDE- You just blew my mind
