Hello! I'm filling out the OptomCAS application to start in the fall of 2019 (I graduate undergrad in Spring of 2019)... and under Standardized Tests, there's a section for the TOEFL... but i'm not taking that... do I have to? Can I leave it blank? I plan on taking the OAT in either September or October (is that a good time?)

Thanks!

Hello! Is English your 1st language? The TOEFL is a test for those who speak English as a 2nd language, so if that doesn't apply to you then you leave that part blank.

September/October is a pretty good time to take your OAT. Anything before Nov/Dec is generally considered early. You can submit your application before you take your OAT as well, and it's highly recommended to do so that way they can review the rest of your file and speed up the process a little. The day of your exam you can also email a photo of your unofficial scores since they provide you a printed copy when you walk out. Then the schools will also receive the "official" ones within a couple of weeks. When you register for the OAT make sure you select all the schools because it's free to do so! However if you add more schools later on I think it's like $30 per school or something ridiculous to soak up money lol. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the help! English is not my first, but I started learning when I was four years old. I speak both arabic and english fluently (better at english) so I don't see a need to take that exam. I was just wondering why it was up there
