I've rec'd some Stafford (subsidized) Loans during undergrad, including Spring/Fall of the current academic year. If I don't get into veterinary school for Fall 07, I will start a masters program THIS summer (Summer 2007).

My question is; I've met my ANNUAL Staff Sub loan limit, for my undergrad semesters this academic year (inlcuding this current Spring semester) - Will that impact my eligibility for these loans for my Masters program which would start this SUMMER (technically included in the current academic year)? I tried calling directly - what a nightmare.. I waited forever, and the rep had no clue. She said she "thinks it'd be fine." . . After a very very long pause.

{Most likely I'll get a researh assistantship (which includes tuition waiver) but I was told this isn't a guarantee for the summer semester - thus I'm worry about loans. . . Just in case anyone was wondering why I'll be paying tuition in a grad program}

If anyone knows - please fill me in.

I had a similar issue happen to me (I was starting post-bacc 2 summers ago and wasn't eligible for any more staffords) and summer WAS included in the prior academic year and I had to take out private loans. So my understanding is if you have already reached your limit for the year with fall and spring semesters, SUMMER will have to be private loans.
