Complicated Situation

I just received an email from VCOM stating that I am accepted into the class of 2021 if I do not get a seat in the class of 2020. However, I currently have an acceptance from LUCOM for the class of 2020. I personally feel that VCOM would be a better fit for me but an acceptance into the class of 2021 would put me at 28 years old and I would be out of school for 2 years.

In comparison to LUCOM and the opportunity I received at VCOM should I just accept their offer and go into the class of 2021 and if so what should I do for another year to keep my mind academically sharp? Finally, should I ask VCOM to give me some sort of proof that they will honor their commitment with me?

Dont worry about age, many folks are over 30 and do well. To keep yourself sharp, I mean I wouldnt study because you will need every neuron in med school to do well. Just chill relax, travel, and spend time with family.

You don't need to worry about keeping your mind sharp. So many people have been out of college (for years) and then start medical school and are just fine. A year off isn't a bad thing, in the grand scheme of things. You can get job to help save some money, go on trips, work on your favorite hobbies, maybe some research, but mostly it's things you want to do.

LUCOM as in Liberty University? If LUCOM's distinctive environment isn't exactly your cup of tea, I'd RUN to VCOM

If you fit personality wise at LUCOM take it, as that means another year of practice and $150-$350K of earning power! Is waiting worth that much money? (maybe/maybe not).

LU is a strong very right leaning Christian university and whether others like the place or not as a doctor most aren't going to care. If that's you personality wise then LU would be a good fit, if not don't let age make your choice for you.

Very good point, I was glad to be accepted but the controversy surrounding LUCOM kinda soured the news. Also, I do not feel too comfortable that they do not have a graduating class with stats to show residency locations.
