Hello all,

I am interested in a career in compounding pharmacy. I find it a little difficult on what I should do during pharmacy school to become one, however. Does anyone have any advice on what internships I should complete to become one?

Can anyone mention a few places that generally employ compounding pharmacists?

Thank you!

There aren't very many places that employ pure compounding pharmacists. Most pharmacist jobs will have at least an occasional compound in them. Most college curriculums have minimal compounding (I had a 1 semester class in it, but I don't know that every college does that anymore.) Your best bet would be to get good grades, and then find try to get a compounding residency (although I don't know how many compounding residencies are out there, probably not very many, since there aren't very many 100% compounding pharmacies.) Other than that, an independent retail pharmacy would probably offer you the most day-to-day compounding opportunities.
