computer question

I realize this isn't pharmacy related, but i just got my new laptop for rx school in the fall so im hoping that will justify me posting this question on here...

the resolution on my laptop screen is 1680x1050 (a WSXGA+ screen) and I got the icons and all that to be larger, but any time i use the internet the screen is really small...does anyone know a way to make it use the full screen? I assume its in certain preferences for each individual web browser but i simply cant find it...if it makes any difference i use Mozilla firefox. Any help would be greatly appreciated! *here's hoping that there are a lot of pharmacists/computer nerds out there!*

You will need to run at a little lower resolution. Since original PC's started out at 640X480 you can come down a little bit at a time until you get the combination of size and clarity that suits you eyes....

Since my wife is far sighted, I have to keep my nice new 19" LCD at 800x600 so she can read her e-mail....

That's what I was thinking but it seems crazy that they haven't come up with a solution to that problem yet...keeping the same resolution but just making it fill the whole screen...I mean when i go to check my e-mail or even check this site it only fills like 1/2 of the screen, the rest is just gray space

I think the real reason is the fast pace of screen size increase is out pacing the ability of the programmers who write the drivers to keep up. This is your best bet for now....
